Help
Everything you need to get going with Paperly Sheets. Can't find an answer? Tell us.
Getting started
- Open Paperly Sheets. There's nothing to install and no account to create.
- On the Home screen, choose Blank workbook or a template (GST invoice, attendance sheet, EMI calculator and more). Or use Open for an
.xlsx,.xls,.csv,.tsvor.odsfile from your computer or a link, or drag the file onto the window. - Click a cell and type. Press Enter to move down or Tab to move right. Start with
=for a formula, for example=SUM(A1:A10). - Use the ribbon at the top to format cells, sort, filter, add charts and more. The + at the bottom adds a sheet; double-click a sheet tab to rename it.
- Click the workbook's name at the top to rename it, and the ⌂ button to go back to Home. Your work saves by itself as you type.

How plans work
Free
The everyday spreadsheet: formulas, formatting, sorting and filtering, templates, printing, and Excel and CSV files. No sign-in needed.
Pro
Everything in Free, plus charts, lookups like VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP, conditional formatting, tables, comments, version history and more functions.
Max
Everything in Pro, plus PivotTables, sparklines, What-If tools, dynamic arrays, LAMBDA, sheet protection and financial functions.
- Features that aren't in your plan still show in the app with a 🔒. Click one to see which plan has it.
- Pro and Max are tied to your account: Sign in (top right, with Google) and your plan unlocks on every device you sign in on.
- Your plan keeps working offline for 7 days after it was last checked. After that, Sheets uses Free until it can reach the internet again.
- Changing or ending a plan never deletes or locks your workbooks. A formula that needs a paid plan shows which plan it needs until you have it again.
- Paid plans are opening soon. Prices are shown under Plans in the app. You'll be able to cancel any time; see the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Install as an app
Installed, Paperly Sheets opens in its own window from your desktop, Start menu or home screen, and works offline.
- Chrome or Edge on a computer: click Install app on the Home screen, or the install icon at the right of the address bar.
- Chrome on Android: tap Install app on the Home screen, or the ⋮ menu, then Install app (or Add to Home screen).
- Safari on iPhone or iPad: tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
The app updates itself. When a new version is ready, a blue New update available button appears on Home; tap it to save your work and switch.
Where your files are saved
- Workbooks are saved automatically, as you type, in your browser on this device (in its IndexedDB storage). They are never uploaded to our servers.
- Each browser keeps its own workbooks: Chrome and Edge on the same computer, or your phone and your laptop, don't share them. To move a workbook, open it, use Export .xlsx, and open that file on the other device.
- Clearing your browser's site data (cookies and site data) deletes your workbooks. Export the ones you want to keep first.
- If the browser closes unexpectedly, AutoRecover offers to bring back what wasn't saved the next time you open Sheets. With Pro, Review > Version History keeps earlier versions of each workbook.
- Options on the Home screen shows how much space your workbooks use.
Questions
Is it free, does it work offline, can I open Excel files, how do refunds work? See the questions and answers on the home page.
Report a bug or send feedback
In the app, open Help > Report a bug (or Send feedback): on the Home screen it's under Help on the left, and in a workbook it's the Help tab of the ribbon. It writes an email for you with the app version, browser and plan filled in, so we can fix things faster.
Or write to iamgamer072@gmail.com any time. See also Contact Us.
